Allergy & Asthma Associates of Stamford was founded by the late Monroe Coleman in 1950. Dr Coleman returned a few years earlier after serving as a medical doctor with the US Army on the battlefield of Europe, during the Second World War. Dr. Coleman believed in helping the community which he lived in. For many years he was teaching Columbia University students who came to classes at Samford hospital. He was named a Columbia Professor of Medicine. He served as the President of the New England Society of Allergy & Immunology.

In 1987 his daughter Dr. Leslie Coleman joined him at the practice. They continued to practice medicine together until the very last days of his life. Thus, Dr. Leslie Coleman benefited from being trained, and working side by side, with one of the best allergists. Dr. Leslie Coleman has 30+ years of experience.
